Cold Week

Event Start Date: 2021/01/14

2021/01/14

Weather and fishing were miserable most of the week. The water temperature must have stunned the fish as the bite was shut down until Tuesday. Water clarity was poor through the weekend but recovered Monday. We still have no bait around and the Squid have not shown yet either. Our winter Bonita are missing as well. Here is how the pier looked:

Tuesday and Wednesday, we finally had a Sheepshead bite.Byron and Vince had a good day Tuesday with bigger Sheepshead. They had their best luck with fresh Ghost Shrimp but live Shrimp got bites too. Vince had two that were 7.5 pounds. Casey decked an over-slot Red Drum as a by catch. Then Wednesday late morning, the bite was on. Shawn, Jesus, Casey, Paul and Bob put Sheeps on the deck Shawn limited out and Casey and Bob had 6 each. All toll, there were close to 30 decked. Fresh Ghost Shrimp out performes live Shrimp hands down. By 3:00, the bite had slowed dramatically.
