Daily activity:
Thursday: The water temp was 82.4 in the am and dropped to 81.7 in the afternoon. The clarity was good. Rain and thunderstorms most of the day. The water was calm except during the thunderstorms. The wind was generally out of the SW 5-10 mph; however, it did gust during the storms. Lots of Hardtails.
Friday: The water temp was 80.6 in the am and topped at 83.3 in the pm. The clarity was good. The wind was out of the west at 12 to 20 mph. There were tons of bait around – Cigar Minnows, Spanish Sardine and Speedos. Ernie got the Kings started about 10:30 with a 19.07- pound King he got on a Sniper lure. Danny brought the next one to the gaff that weighed 26 pounds 4 ounces. Phillip joined the action and put two on the deck at 16,5 and 14,5 pounds. Jose got the biggest and smallest ones with a “smoker” 31.5-pound King and one barely 24 inches. I finally hooked one only to have “flipper” take it. At least I got the King’s head back. There was one other “schoolie” King caught before I left at 6:10. All the Kings except Ernie’s were on bait. Ther were several Bonita, and a few Spanish Mackerel were caught throughout the day. Hardtails were thick all day. Noah decked a couple of Pompano in the shallow water.

Saturday: The water temp was 76.3 in the am and topped at 79.2 in the pm. The clarity was good. There was some bait around. It was a slow day. One Flounder, a few Spanish Mackerel- you had to work for them, and hardtails.
Sunday: The water temp was 75.4 in the am and topped at 79.3 in the pm. The clarity was good. The wind in the morning was out of the SW at 10 to 14 mph. One Mahi and Hardtails. Alewives and Cigar Minnows were surrounding the end Tee. Spanish Mackerel turned on just before sunset and quite a few were caught.
Monday: The water temp was 77.7 in the am and topped at 79.2 in the pm. The clarity was good. The wind was out of the NE in the morning at 5 mph then swung around to the South at 8-10 MPH by late afternoon. Most of the day was slow except lots of Hardtails. There were a few Spanish Mackerel. Mahmoud caught the only King Mackerel after 5:00 pm on a dead Cigar Minnow. There were four Kings hooked but Mahmoud’s was the only one decked. Cigar Minnows, Alewives and Speedos were thick.
Tuesday: The water temp was 75.7 in the am and topped at 80.2 in the pm. The clarity was good. The wind was out of the ESE in the morning at 7-14 mph then swung around to the South at 9-12 MPH by the afternoon. There were lots of bait including Cigar Minnows, Alewives, Speedos, Spanish Sardine and a few Threadfin Herring. Hardtails were caught in mass all day. A few Spanish Mackerel came over the rail. John C. caught the only Mahi for the day. The King Mackerel bite was great. There were around 20 Kings decked, at lease 10 lost and the “tax man Flipper” got three in a row- one from Sam, Hai and Quang. Jose caught 3, Sam-2, Nory-2, Kim-3, John-2, and Julian from Arkansas got his first one on a circle hook and mono leader. Several other anglers caught fish too. A few Tarpon came by but there were none hooked. As I was leaving the pier, there was a school of Bull Red Drum prowling the shallows.

Wednesday:
Tuesday: The water temp was 78.8 in the am and topped at 81.3 in the pm. The clarity was good. The wind was out of the S-SSE in the morning at 12-17 mph then swung around to the South at 13-15 MPH by the afternoon. There were lots of bait including Cigar Minnows, Alewives, Speedos, and Spanish Sardine. Hardtails were caught in mass all day. Justin caught a 3.5-pound Hardtail on a Cigar Minnow. A few Spanish Mackerel came over the rail. There were a couple of Bonita caught and three Skip Jacks, one of which Hai is holding. Ladyfish came in thick in the afternoon. There were a few small King Mackerel from early morning until about 4:00 p. m. The bite turned on and at lease 15 Kings hit the deck with another 10 lost. Jorge, from Atlanta got his first King using a Jig with mono leader. Sam, Blasito, John, Jeffery, Nory, Jose and several other anglers decked Kings as well. All were “schoolies”.
