Water conditions have been stained part of the week with a drop in the temperature after the weekend rains. Kings continue to be elusive. Spanish are around if you can get past the huge Ladyfish and Hardtails. A few Red Drum were caught along with some Mangrove Snapper.
Nory was the lucky angler to get the only legal King of the week. It came Thursday afternoon and weighed 19.5 pounds. A couple other tiny Kings were caught but not 24 inches. Spanish have been coming through in small schools and staying a few minutes. George managed to be casting when a school passed.

Huge Ladyfish and offshore Hardtails have been caught all week. It didn’t really matter what you were throwing, they just attacked in packs.
Red Drum prowled the skinny water but had lock jaw most of the time. A lot of patience would eventually get you a hit. Steve and I got lucky with a pair of slots. Mine ate a Sandflea and Steve’s ate a live Alewife.
Brandon brought live shrimp yesterday afternoon and got hammered by the big Hardtails. He persisted targeting the Mangrove Snapper that were mixed in and was able to put several on deck.
