Daily activity:
Thursday 30th. water temp 83.8 S 6-12mph in the a.m. / 85.8 W 6-12mph. The water was nasty near the beach. The end was improved but still silty. A visiting angler caught a big Tripletail and released it. I saw a couple of average sized Spanish Mackerel caught on Sabiki rigs. There were a couple of Pompano and a few Hardtails as well. Cigar Minnows and Moon Pies were available for live bait
Friday: water temp 84.2 SE 9-12mph in the a.m. / 86.0 WSW 15-20mph in the p.m. The water was the best it had been since the tropical storm but still a little silty off the end. The shallow water is still very dirty. The normal Ladyfish and Hardtails were caught along with a few Spanish Mackerel. John C. had a big Bonita that broke off and then a King Mackerel, approx. 20 pounds, that wrapped the piling and cut his line. It hit a jerk bait at 4:30p.m. There were Cigar minnows available for live bait.
Saturday: water temp 84.2 W 10-13mph in the a.m. / 84.2 SW 9-13mph in the p.m. The water was dirty. Small Sharks, Ladyfish and the usual dirty water trash fish were the only catches.
Sunday: water temp 83.8 WSW 14-19mph in the a.m. / 83.7 SW 15-20mph wind in the p.m. The water was very dirty. Repeat of yesterday.
Monday: water temp 82.9 N 5-9mph in the a.m. / 85.3 W wind 13-16mph in the p.m. The water was dirty. Small Ladyfish and a few Hardtails were the only catches.
Tuesday: water temp 83.1 ENE 9-15mph in the a.m. / 85.3 WSW 7-9mph in the p.m. The water was much better but not clear. There were a few Spanish Mackerel and several Hardtails caught this morning. I caught an undersized King Mackerel on a spoon; a visiting angler hooked a 6–8-pound King on a Gotcha but lost it in the piling. A few more Spanish Mackerel were caught this afternoon. Live bait was MIA.
Wednesday 05th. water temp 84.4 WSW 5-8mph in the a.m./ 85.8 S 8-11mph in the p.m. The water was almost clean. There was a good run of Spanish Mackerel and a few Pompano this morning. The afternoon produced Hardtails, a couple more Pompano and a couple of Spanish. There was no King Mackerel before I left at 5:00p.m.
Red Tide status: All recent samples from Escambia, Okaloosa, Walton, Bay, Gulf, Franklin, Wakulla, Levy, Citrus, Hernando, and Pasco counties showed no presence of K. brevis
