We finally returned to normal water clarity but the fish seemed to have not gotten the message. At least for the county pier the message was lost. Three days the City pier saw Kings chewing while anglers on the County saw one or two fish. With only three miles separating the two piers, one wonders what is different to cause such a vast difference in the bite. Our water temperature declined with morning readings approaching 76 but by week’s end was back around 80. Bait has been a challenge with a few Cigar minnows caught early mornings and sporadic catches of Alewives and Threadfin Herring throughout the day. Mid-day today, the current changed to westward which brought Bay water back. It is now dark coffee color. Several schools of Tarpon passed traveling east but no bites.
All week brought only a few King bites. I am not aware of a single King to hit the CountyPier deck. However in two days the City pier saw over 50 Kings decked. A few mornings, Spanish were in and a few nice ones were caught.
Skinny water was the only action and I would not describe it as hot. A few Pompano, Red Drum Flounder and a Sheepshead were decked. Ethan and little brother Gavin pose with Flounder and a Red. Mark holds the first Sheepshead for the past few weeks. Ivan has one of the couple of keeper Pompano.

Water temperature: 76-80
