We began another week with the water clarity trashed. As we got to the weekend, it had begun to improve. Cooler temperatures resulted in a drop in the water temperature. Bait was scarce and we switched our clocks back to Central Standard Time. November is here and Flounder have yet to appear in any numbers. We did see a few unusual fish come over the rail. Several Silver Trout were caught. Catfish were thick for a few days. Sheepshead are beginning to gather on the pilings but have been slow to bite.
By the weekend, the water had improved enough to see Spanish Mackerel schools moving through. Several nice fish were caught over the week. Kings have remained at a trickle with only two small ones being decked for the 7 day period. Tom and Tommy got the two schoolies on lures.
Red Drum filled the void with several Bulls hooked and a few caught and released. Anthony hooked one on the end on a Gotcha that was almost 40 inches. Paul B. arrived in town and he and I both got slot Reds his first afternoon on the pier. Along with the Reds, a few Black Drum were spotted. Wayne tied into one of the “Big Uglys” and managed to get it onto the deck.

Pompano have begun to show with a few fish each day. Many have been too small but a few legal fish have made their way into coolers. Sand Fleas were the best bait to get a hit.
Water temperature: 72-74
