Thursday picked up where Wednesday left off with a good Sheepshead bite. The water remained clear with mild to moderate wind. A few Red Drum were hanging around and even a Flounder or two for the week. Winter Bonita are still missing and the Squid have not come in yet.
Thursday morning was off to a great start. Fresh Ghost shrimp was the best choice of bait with live Shrimp a not too distant second choice. Sheepshead were thick and hanging close to the bottom. Casey and Tommy started the morning with several fish each. George chimed in a little later and put 5 in the cooler. Paul and I got there late morning and got 5 more before the bite cooled. Friday morning was completely different. The winds had picked up during the night. The water was rough and got very dirty by afternoon. Brenda managed to put the only Sheepshead on the deck for the day. All were caught using a standard Carolina rig with light fluorocarbon leader and small circle hooks.

Thursday also brought John a nice upper slot Red Drum. He was targeting Sheepshead but was surprised when his drag began screaming. Fortunately he was able to keep it free of the pilings.
Saturday through Monday we had rough and dirty water with almost no bite. Tuesday, one Red Drum was decked by a visiting angler from Chicago. Today (Wednesday), Shaun caught one big Sheepshead and two other anglers got a Flounder each. The weather forecast has our temperatures warming for the next several days. Hopefully the water will gain a couple of degrees and the fish will turn on.
