I wonder if we will ever get past the dark coffee colored water as the rains have continued. We are forecast to have showers most of the coming week too. Our clarity was still good but dark. Bait availability continues to be mostly Alewives with an occasional Cigar minor or Threadfin Herring. The Tarpon bite has slowed to a trickle and Kings have not been much better. A few Spanish are around and hitting small Cigs. A couple of Bonita hit the deck as well. Skinny water is holding Red Drum.

I fished all week without even a roll from a Tarpon. I did get reports of Poons hooked but the number of fish coming by the pier has definitely slowed. Rail space is plentiful as many anglers have quit spending hours waiting for a bite.
Kings were slow but at lease there were a couple of decent size fish caught. Bait performed better than lures. Jose and Phillip were the big fish anglers for the week with Phillip’s fish being the largest at 23.5 pounds. Several small fish were decked too with more missed.

Skinny water was swarming with Red Drum most of the week. The bite was sporadic but a few were caught daily. Fresh Sand Fleas and live Alewives were the choice baits to get their attention. There were both slot and over slot fish decked.

Water temperature: 79.3-86.9
