We began our week with undesirable dark coffee colored water and it went South from that. Hurricane “Ida” brought us wind, rain and extremely rough surf that resulted in nasty water. The conditions deteriorated Friday afternoon and became unfishable the remainder of the week. A few anglers tried their luck Saturday morning and even had one King hit but only a few Spanish Mackerel and Hardtails hit the deck. Sunday was a wash. Rain and winds with gusts of just over 40mph continued through Tuesday as bands of thunderstorms spiraled from “Ida” as it moved Northeast. It will take several days before conditions are improved enough to catch anything but Catfish and Sharks. (see: Pier 08-31-21)
