It was a good week to organize your tackle, re-spool your reels and make Squid jigs. We started the period with rough and dirty water and ended with the coldest water so far. An artic blast hit us, and we saw 23 degrees Tuesday morning. The water temperature started at 58 and dropped as low as 54.9 Tuesday. The forecast brings more cold air for the upcoming weekend but warmer conditions next week. The pier was almost empty for several days.
Jack is the star of the week. He braved the bitter conditions Saturday, and it paid off. He had the pier to himself and caught Red Drum, Black Drum and Pompano. One of the Reds was huge.
