Keep your expectations low so you will not be disappointed. Catches were limited this week even though we had good conditions. The water was clean and hovered near 80 degrees all week. Bait was very limited with a few cigs most days. There were a few Alewives early mornings. “Flipper” was our constant companion.
Getting a King Mackerel bite was almost impossible as we fought to keep our bait away from “Flipper” and the Remoras. The King sightings were rare. There were three fish caught and a couple more missed. Danny put the first one on the deck Friday the 20th. Later that day, George caught one and lost one. Then we would wait until Tuesday the 24th for the next one. Mikel would be the lucky angler. We even had a couple of stormy and windy days to no avail. Hopefully things will improve soon.

The Spanish Mackerel bite was a little better but not hot. A few big fish were decked. Smaller fish were more common and a few were caught most days. Most were on lures.

Other action included lots of Hardtails and Ladyfish. Several Bonita were decked and a Jack Cravelle.I had reports of a couple of Pompano too.
